ASCLEPIUS Early-Career Researcher Presents Research at EuroBiofilms 2026
Early-career scientist Sopho Sturua, a researcher within the ASCLEPIUS project, presented her poster at EuroBiofilms 2026.
Her research, titled "Enhancing Bacteriophage Activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa Biofilms Formed by Clinical Isolates through Directed Evolution," explores strategies to improve the effectiveness of bacteriophages against biofilm-associated infections.
By applying directed evolution, the research aims to enhance the ability of bacteriophages to target Pseudomonas aeruginosa biofilms formed by clinical isolates. This work contributes to the broader goal of developing more effective phage-based approaches for treating persistent bacterial infections.
The presentation at EuroBiofilms 2026 provided an opportunity to share these findings with the international biofilm research community and engage in scientific discussions with researchers working in related fields.
