ASCLEPIUS Researcher Presents Research on Enterococcus faecalis Biofilms at EuroBiofilms 2026
ASCLEPIUS researcher Sophio Rigvava presented her poster at EuroBiofilms 2026, showcasing her research on the antibiotic susceptibility and phage response of biofilm-producing Enterococcus faecalis.
Her work investigates how biofilm-producing Enterococcus faecalis responds to antibiotics and bacteriophages, contributing to a better understanding of strategies to combat biofilm-associated infections. These infections are particularly challenging to treat due to the increased tolerance of biofilm-forming bacteria to antimicrobial therapies.
By presenting her research at EuroBiofilms 2026, Sophio had the opportunity to share her findings with the international biofilm research community, exchange ideas with fellow scientists, and contribute to discussions on innovative approaches to addressing antimicrobial resistance.
