ASCLEPIUS Early-Career Researcher Shares Experience from University of Minho Exchange
Early-career scientist Sopho Sturua shared her experience from a research exchange at University of Minho in Braga, Portugal, with researchers at the G. Eliava Institute of Bacteriophages, Microbiology and Virology.
During her stay in Braga, she conducted research focused on studying phage activity against Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus aureus biofilms, two bacterial species that are major causes of difficult-to-treat infections and are central to the research objectives of the ASCLEPIUS project.
The exchange visit was organised within the framework of the ASCLEPIUS project and provided an opportunity to strengthen scientific collaboration between the Eliava Institute and its Twinning partner University of Minho. Research exchanges like this allow early-career scientists to gain new skills, share expertise, and contribute to advancing research on bacteriophage therapy.
After returning to Tbilisi, Sopho presented the results of her work and shared insights from her stay with colleagues at the G. Eliava Institute of Bacteriophages, Microbiology and Virology, contributing to knowledge exchange within the ASCLEPIUS consortium.
