Secondary school students visited Eliava Institute

On October 25th 10th grade students from Tbilisi school N163 visited Eliava Institute. They visited microbiology laboratories, where they learned about different bacteria and their viruses. Students were told about the importance of microbes in human health and about therapeutic potential of bacteriophages.

Students had a chance to observe bacterial and phage colonies on petri dishes, they learned staining techniques for different types of bacteria and they were introduced to electron microscopy.
