ASCLEPIUS Researcher Presents her Phage Research at EuroBiofilms 2026

ASCLEPIUS researcher Natia Karumidze presented her poster at EuroBiofilms 2026, showcasing her research on novel lytic bacteriophages for combating biofilm-associated infections caused by Pseudomonas aeruginosa and Staphylococcus spp.

Her research focuses on identifying and characterising lytic bacteriophages with the potential to target biofilm-forming bacterial pathogens. As biofilms increase bacterial tolerance to antimicrobial treatments, the discovery of effective bacteriophages represents a promising avenue for the development of alternative therapeutic approaches.

By presenting her work at EuroBiofilms 2026, Natia had the opportunity to share her findings with the international scientific community, exchange ideas with fellow researchers, and contribute to discussions on innovative strategies to address antimicrobial resistance and biofilm-associated infections.
